At Sheffield, appointments are often given to you at the time the referral is made (when you are with the doctors in our fetal medicine unit). Alternatively the department secretary may phone or write to you with your appointment.

Most appointments at Sheffield Teaching Hospital are on a Tuesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

Before or during your appointment you will be asked to fill in a patient safety questionnaire, like the example shown here.

Please allow plenty of time before your appointment to park and make your way to the department.

In our centre the radiologist is there for almost all the scans and will talk to you and show you the images after your scan if that is what you would like.

They will tell you what they have seen and what it means and give you time to ask questions.

You will be given an opportunity to have some of the images sent to you.
